Il Granaio (The barn)
The house is originally a very old presbytery dating from the year 1000. It has of course been converted over the centuries. It is immersed in the beautiful hills of the Tuscan countryside where natural forests, vineyards, olive groves and rows of cypresses alternate.
It is situated on the heights of Castelfiorentino, in the Elsa Valley, on the Via Francigena: the famous road used in the Middle Ages by pilgrims travelling from Canterbury to Rome.

Very bright L-shaped living room-kitchen with a large bay window.
The living room is equipped with a sofa bed, television, table/chairs and a large typical Tuscan fireplace.
The kitchen is charmingly decorated.
The floor is made of old Tuscan terracotta.
The terraced gardens
The kitchen gives access to the main garden with a large shaded table and a barbecue area.
You go down a few steps to discover a small garden surrounded by greenery.
A few more stone steps, among oleanders and olive trees, lead to the swimming pool area equipped with parasols, deckchairs, a shower and a large table for picnics.
The view of the Tuscan hillsides is superb.

On the first floor
A corridor lined with clerestory walls (typical of barns), leads to two bedrooms (double bed, wardrobes and bedside tables) and a bathroom (washbasin, shower, bath).
The cost for the use of central heating and wood for the hearth is calculated according to consumption.

Fantastic place to spend the summer holiday
What a lovely place! Marillia is amazing, so nice and supporting. We spend the summerholiday with 3 adults, 2 kids & 1 dog and it went very well! Swimming, BBQ and enjoying the beautiful view. Castelfiorentino is a lovely place with a very good supermarket (COOP recommended) and a lovely city centre. Within 45 minutes you’ll be in Florence by train. Marillia thank you so much for the list with restaurants, they were amazing! If you want an authentic Toscane experience without to many tourists, this is the best place to be! And don’t forget the wine-tasting 😉
The perfect place to explore Tuscany
We were staying 4 days in this wonderful house placed in the heart of Tuscany. The house is tasteful decorated, it is clean and there is everything you need for a perfect stay. The view from the garden, were you can eat your breakfast, is amazing, and there is a calm atmosphere around the whole area. From here we were able to go by car to all the essential citys and sightseeing in Tuscany, without having to drive to far. Marilia is so friendly, and we highly recommend this place. We hope to be back again someday soon!
