Poggio al Cielo
In the heart of Tuscany, a few miles from Florence, lay the country houses of Poggio al Cielo. The property consists of two independent charming houses: La Canonica delle Rondini (sleeps up to 9 people) and Il Granaio (sleeps 4 to 6 people).
Both have a swimming pool and private gardens at the exclusive disposal of guests.
The two structures are independent, but they can be rented together to accommodate groups (maximum 15 people) for special events, courses or seminars.
What to do and see
Castelfiorentino is a lively little town thanks to its friendly restaurants, shops, weekly open-air market, supermarkets and railway station. It is rarely visited by tourists, which is a guarantee of safety and tranquillity.
The town centre is within walking distance (about 3 km) and is an excellent starting point for visiting the cities of art (Florence, Siena, Vinci, Pisa, San Gimignano, Lucca…) by train or car.
In the surrounding area: famous spas and the beautiful golf courses of Castelfalfi (20 minutes by car).
A 9-seater van with private driver can be booked on site for day trips. A pleasant and comfortable way to visit the most beautiful cities of Tuscany as well as the hidden wonders of our region, through roads and hills, outside the usual itineraries.
Some examples of excursions:
– Drive along the roads of the beautiful Val d’Orcia to the village of Montalcino, taste the famous brunello or other great wines at the Cantina Banfi and, upon reservation, have lunch at the castle.
– Drive along the Chianti route and its breathtaking scenery, then go to taste the wines of the prestigious Cantina Antinori winery.
– Spend a beautiful day discovering the strange landscapes of the Maremma and its villages.
– Cross the red metalliferous hills to discover the charming Cistercian abbey of San Galgano and refresh yourself in the clear waters of the source of the river Elsa.
– In autumn, go in search of white truffles to taste grated on your pasta and rizottos.
